One platform, two parts
TNC Academy develops and runs two parts: Vigo for learning and Vigo Exam for testing. They work together in a single pathway, or separately, depending on what the institution needs.
The two parts
Used together, results from each sitting feed back into the learning pathway, so adjustments come early rather than at the end of term.
Vigo
A self-study pathway combined with live online classes, for secondary students, university students and working adults.
Lessons released weekly
Learners do not choose their own lessons. Each week the system releases lessons along the designed pathway, in step with the institution's programme.
Vocabulary on a spaced repetition schedule
Words come back just before they would be forgotten, so they stick instead of being memorised and lost.
Live classes of up to five learners
Learners choose a Vietnamese, international or native-speaker teacher, and can change.
Progress you can follow
Results appear in the software, with regular reports to the institution.
Runs on devices people already have
Computer, tablet or phone, with a mobile app for learners.
Vigo Exam
An online testing platform for entrance assessment, placement, regular testing and practice exams.
All four skills covered
Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing on one system. Speaking is recorded directly, with no need to interview candidates one by one.
Real exam format
Under time, with drafts saved automatically, a warning before time runs out and automatic submission at the end.
Results broken down by section
Candidates and institutions see which skills are strong or weak, can review the paper, and track progress across sittings.
Marking
Reading and Listening are scored as soon as the paper is submitted. Writing and Speaking are marked by a teacher and returned with comments.
Works on its own
An institution can use Vigo Exam alone, without a learning programme attached.
Connecting to an existing system
Many institutions already run their own learning management system and would rather not send learners to a second login.
Vigo and Vigo Exam can connect to an existing system at several levels:
Single sign-on
Learners come in from the institution's own system, with no separate account.
Learner list synchronisation
Class and learner lists come from the institution's system, with no re-keying.
Results pushed back
Study progress and sitting results are pushed back into the institution's system to sit alongside other subjects.
Embedded content
Lessons and sittings open inside the institution's own interface.
We have our own technical team for this work and do not depend on an outside vendor. What exactly can be connected is settled after a technical review with the institution's IT team.
Operation
Both parts run on cloud infrastructure operated by TNC Academy. There are no servers to buy, no software to install and no technical staff to assign.
Learner data is used to run the programme and is not shared with third parties.
