Program background

This program is designed to take learners from CEFR A1 to B1 or higher. It combines practical English skill development with IELTS preparation, using proven teaching methods and high-quality study materials to ensure clear, measurable progress.

Learning objectives

By the end of the program, learners will:

  • Master English at CEFR B1 or above.
  • Communicate confidently in English in everyday and academic contexts.
  • Achieve IELTS Band 4.0 or higher.
  • Develop independent study skills and effective exam strategies.

Methodology

  • In-class activities: Communicative practice, grammar, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, and speaking.
  • Self-study: Weekly tasks on the Reallyenglish app to reinforce core skills and expand vocabulary.
  • Support tools: The Reallyenglish digital platform to track progress and personalize each learner’s pathway.

Tracking & reporting

The program uses modern monitoring and reporting tools within Reallyenglish to closely track learner progress. This data provides transparency and actionable insights for students, teachers, and stakeholders.

IELTS 4.0 Training Roadmap

The program blends in-class instruction with self-study on Reallyenglish:

  • In-class time: 4 semesters × 18 weeks × 4.5 hrs/week + 2 summer terms × 4 weeks × 9 hrs/week = 396 hrs.
  • Self-study: 4 semesters × avg. 5 hrs/week × 18 weeks + 2 summer terms × avg. 6 hrs/week × 4 weeks = 408 hrs.
  • Total study time: ~804 hrs (sufficient to progress from Band 2.0 to Band 4.0 with sustained effort).
