Practical English Starter

Practical English Starter is the ideal course for complete beginners or anyone who needs to revisit the most essential foundations of English. It covers practical everyday topics such as introducing yourself, numbers, shopping, and getting around. With 2–3 hours of study per week over several months, learners will see clear improvements in their level and in international test results.

Each lesson offers varied content and task types and follows a clear, proven learning cycle to build skills systematically. The syllabus uses a spiral approach, steadily building confidence through reading and listening tasks that progress from simple to more challenging.

After every four lessons, learners can put what they’ve learned into practice through simple role-plays that simulate common survival communication situations. Short, focused pronunciation and speaking drills let learners record themselves and train stress and intonation on core vocabulary.

Learners are exposed to a variety of accents from across the English-speaking world and beyond, preparing them for travel, international communication, or progression to pre-intermediate and higher levels.

Practical English Starter also provides optional blended resources to support the digital lessons, including worksheets, teacher’s notes, language summaries, and audio files—suitable for group classes, 1-to-1 lessons, or online teaching.
